Once upon a time, in a land shrouded in mist and ancient mysteries, castles and palaces stood like silent guardians on the hills. Some said they had been enchanted by the ancestors, others believed that the stones themselves preserved the stories of those who were once brave enough to enter their gates.
One night, when the moon was high in the sky and the stars were whispering, a mysterious call rang out: Those who follow „Der Ruf der alten Mauern“ will not only solve the mysteries of the old stones, but also find fame and honor. But only those who understand the signs along the way can find all the castles and fortresses and reach their longed-for destination.
You have now been chosen to answer this call. Before the first light of day, you will receive the secret coordinates that will lead you to each castle and fortress. It is up to you to plan your route, overcome obstacles, and uncover the secrets of the castles.
In the end, you return to the place where it all began—the heart of the legend. There, you will be celebrated not only as a seeker, but as a hero. Every step, every castle, every fortress is visible through a GPS tracker, so the world can follow your journey.

Experience a unique adventure among historic castles and palaces! „Der Ruf der alten Mauern“ is a unique race that will test not only your endurance but also your sense of direction. One day before the start, we will send you the coordinates of various castles and palaces. Your task: Find the best way to reach all points and return to the finish line. It doesn’t matter whether you run or hike. The first person to visit all coordinates and reach the finish line wins.

Special features
- GPS tracking: Each participant receives a GPS tracker so that their progress toward the specified coordinates can be tracked. This allows fans to follow the entire race live from home.
- Flexible route planning: You decide for yourself in which order you want to visit the coordinates.
- Traffic regulations: Traffic regulations apply. Due to the nature of the competition, it is not possible to secure road crossings.

Location
The location is in the Isenburg village comminty center. Isenburg is located on the edge of the Westerwald forest, between Koblenz and Neuwied, so it is fairly central between the Rhine and the Westerwald.
Arriving by car:
- From the north: A3 towards Frankfurt – Dierdorf junction
- From the south: A3 toward Cologne – Dierdorf junction
Public transportation:
From Koblenz Central Station, you can easily reach Isenburg by taking bus line 110 (towards Dierdorf). The journey takes around 45–50 minutes. Simply get off at the “Isenburg Dorfgemeinschaftshaus” stop.
Race number distribution
The distribution of race numbers begins 60 minutes before the respective start.
Briefing
The mandatory briefing will take place 15 minutes before the start.
Catering
There is a runner’s breakfast in the morning. You are responsible for your own food and drink along the route, so plan to stop at supermarkets, kiosks, gas stations, etc. along the way. A generous refreshment station awaits you at the finish line.
Timekeeping and live tracking
Timing is done electronically via RaceResult. The net time is used for scoring. You will receive a live tracker when you pick up your race number so that your fans can follow your progress at any time.
Medals
After returning the tracker, you will receive your well-earned medal.
Note on the GPS tracker
A fee of €150.00 will be charged if the GPS tracker is lost.
Sanitary facilities
Toilets are available in the start/finish area.
Minimum number of participants
The event will take place if 30 participants register by August 1, 2026. Otherwise, the entry fee will be refunded or transferred to the next date. The decision is yours.
DNS
No entry fee will be refunded in the event of non-participation. A substitute runner may be named within the registration period. We recommend taking out entry fee insurance.

The personal data provided when registering participants will be stored and processed exclusively for the purposes of organizing and conducting the event.
